Neville has to dispatch these other survivors while trying to find a cure to the disease which has affected them. There are others, who have been turned into zombie/vampires. For me, the book more forcefully drove home the ethical dilemma faced by the apparent sole survivor on earth, Robert Neville of an un-named catastrophe. It spoke to me about being an outsider and feeling completely out of place, as was the protagonist, who was played by Vincent Price in the 1964 movie version, The Last Man on Earth, by Charlton Heston in 1971 movie version, The Omega Man, and, finally, by Will Smith in the 2007 movie version, I Am Legend. It was my first real introduction into science fiction and I instantly became a fan of Matheson. ![]() I read his book “ I Am Legend” when I was a very young teenager. ![]()

I have always hated one person doing all voices but this narrator did such a fabulous job that I soon forgot that she was doing it all and was able to concentrate on the story. I don't understand all the gushing for this storyįirst, I have to applaud the narrator. ![]() But secrets have a way of getting out.and the world wants to break what’s left of me. With royalty threatening and blackmailing me, Theo insisting we stay the course, and constant observers waiting for me to fail, I have no choice but to play the game. Especially when you find yourself engaged and being groomed to become queen. But once you are a part of the royal family, you can’t just walk away. It made me realize how much my life had been lived for others: my family, the royals, and Theo. Leave it to me to do the stupidest thing possible and fall for my bodyguard, but there was no fighting it. We were trapped together and forced to face things we had been trying to deny, and we could no longer ignore our overwhelming connection.
